The Salvo Hawks start their season in style.

On 18 April the RecLink footy season started, in glorious weather and fine conditions at the Victoria Reserve (just North of Auburn Station) and the event was enjoyed by seven Rotarians (plus two dogs - very good for starting conversations!)  We enjoyed wearing our HiViz vests, and chatting with hangers-on like the big sister of one player who was still a recovering drug addict.
The Salvo Hawks triumphed mightily over the Wynbay Bulldogs.
And for Rotary Hawthorn, there were two landmarks:
  • *  We got the scoreboard to work - quite a saga, and many thanks to Katrina and Mick;
*  We successfully ordered and collected 20 pizzas - thanks especially to Ian Bentley, Geoff Wright, Lawrence Reddaway and Ngaire Cannon.
