How refreshing to hear a young, intelligent and articulate teenager speak to us today. The Rotary Club of Nhill supported, with our assistance, Mu Yeh to attend the National Youth Science Forum in Brisbane this year. His presentation was so mature and informative. He gave us all a real picture of who he is, the journey from the refugee camp in Mynmar to Nhill and how he is grasping the opportunities that he is offered in Australia. Mu Yeh obviously took away a great deal from his experience at the Forum, from lasting friendships to a broader view on science and the pathway he may wish to take.
Thank you Mu Yeh for taking the time to create your presentation which we all enjoyed and for sharing your journey with our Club.
Next week Dr. Gary Presland will speak to us about "How Nature Shaped The City of Melbourne" which I am sure will be of great interest to members.
On the weekend Tilak and I attended the final PETS training via Zoom leading up to Tilak's Presidency. It was a very valuable afternoon led by District Governor Elect Philip Archer and his leadership team. Please support Tilak in this lead up to our Changeover on the 30th June.
For those interested in music here are some pieces which I hope that you will enjoy:
Holst - The Planets
Schubert - Piano Quintet 'Trout'
Granados - Spanish Dance No. 5
Billie Holiday - Just One of Those Things
Stay safe and well.
