It is not often that a President is able to induct two new members.  Julie Clark and Phil Dolan were inducted today.  We welcome them both and look forward to many years of fellowship.

Phil's wife Carol was also able to be a part of this special ceremony.  Julie was sponsored by Sue Zidziunas, herself a very new member and Phil by Ian Bentley.  I trust that all members will assist in helping both Julie and Phil to learn about our Club and the many activities that we undertake each year.

Our speaker today Kevin Love from Melbourne Central gave us a most interesting overview of the new Visitor Centre at Phillip Island's Penguin Parade.  The new centre is beautifully designed and assimilates superbly into the environment.  It was good to hear how it had been developed, designed and built and is obviously well worth going to see. I think it would be a great Club event to go and have a look for ourselves.  It was also good to hear that so many people visit the Penguin Parade each year and how the Phillip Island Nature Parks manages to cope with the shear volume of visitors.

Next week is a celebration of the end of the Football Season.  So come along with your scarf, hat or tie and get into a Grand Final mood.  Adjunct Associate Professor Rob Hess will be speaking about 'The Forgotten Story of the Chinese Goldfields Aussie Rules Leagues'.

Kind regards,

Charlotte England
