There is no doubt that over the last few weeks the coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed all of our lives. In particular, self-isolation measures have increased in severity, meaning a decrease in our physical activity and exercise.

Over the years, research conducted by the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute has provided substantial evidence demonstrating the importance of regular physical activity to prevent and manage many chronic diseases, for that reason, the health implications of self-isolation are a very real concern.

Evidence from the Dallas Bedrest studies of the 1960s demonstrated that just three weeks of inactivity had the equivalent effect of 30 years of ageing on the cardiovascular system.

The health and wellbeing of wonderful supporters like you is incredibly important to us, and we want to help you and your loved ones, keep active and healthy at this time.
