You may recall that I did a presentation on promoting mental health and wellbeing at your Rotary Club last year.

As part of our continued campaign to prevent mental ill-health across the Australian community, Prevention United is hosting a free webinar on Thursday May 21st at 12.30pm to support the wellbeing of grandparents while social distancing restrictions are in place.

We believe that one way to lessen the impact of isolation and loneliness for grandparents (and grandchildren) is to teach them how to facilitate online play with their grandchildren, and so we've organised an online tutorial to do just that. I have attached some promotional materials which provide more detail. They also include a link to the registration page (https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/8971000440313241102).

We are keen to let as many grandparents know about the event as possible and so we're wondering if you would be able to promote the session to your members and local community. I have attached some promotional material that may assist.

CALLING ALL GRANDPARENTS who want to learn how to play online games with their grandchildren. Social distancing restrictions may have eased in Australia, but some are still cautious about frequent, close, physical contact between grandparents and their grandkids.

Physical distancing keeps us safe from COVID-19, but it may inadvertently contribute to loneliness and poor mental health and wellbeing. Prevention United believes that one way to reduce the impact of physical distancing on grandparents and their grandkids is to help them play together online.

Many grandparents are embracing technology to stay connected with loved ones and realising that there’s a lot they can do online, when they can’t be there in person. This includes playing games with their grandkids!

So we’ve invited play expert and educator, Daniel Teitelbaum to assist grandparents to get the most out of the online experience. Daniel is offering a free webinar tutorial to bring his knowledge and expertise to grandparents.
