First of all, why do you assume that it does? What’s the basis of that statement?

Second, it certainly doesn’t know everything. It indexes a tiny percentage of the data on the internet, so there is a huge amount it’s not aware of.

Third, it is quite happy to provide you with completely the wrong information. A search for the cure for cancer for example brings up a website that makes stupid claims. A search for the holocaust returns denial websites.

Fourth, it will provide the answer that you have primed it to give you. A search for “is milk bad for you” returns sites that shows it is, yet if you search for the opposite, Google will show you sites that prove it is good for you.

Fifth, Google is often confused by fake news. It does not check information, it simply returns it.

Sixth, Google can be fooled very easily. A search for “Google bombs” will show you examples of the way people have fooled the engine into returning specific sites based on particular phrased searches.

Seventh, Google is simply a bunch of computer code, written by people, and it responds accordingly. There is no sentience, no thought behind it.

Still think Google knows everything?
