Hawthorn Rotarians will be pleased to learn that following our visit earlier this year to the Rotary club of Nhill new friendships were made with lasting results.
 
We enjoyed the privilege of meeting many of the Karen people from Myanmar community who have migrated to Nhill over recent years
 
With the support of the Rotary Club of Nhill they have made a major contribution to the town and it was clearly a wonderful example of how different cultures coming together can contribute so much to the wider community.
 
Our Rotary Club agreed to support a most impressive young Karen student attending the Nhill P12 College.
 
Muh Yeh, who spoke to us about his dream of being accepted as a participant in the forthcoming National Youth Science Forum in Canberra impressed everyone when he outlined his hopes and ambitions
 
His personal application succeeded and with this acceptance he will now participate with support from the Rotary Club of Nhill and the Rotary club Hawthorn.

All parties can take pride in achieving, another positive step for Rotary and the community it serves.
