The Battle of Villers-Bretonneux

On April 26 the Rotary Club of Gosford will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Villers Bretonneux.       The evening will include a 2 course dinner before proceeding to the main event.....a history of the battle.

Led for the first time in WW1 by Australian General John Monash the battle proved a turning point in what had previously been an intractable struggle.     Our presentation is intended to be tasteful and will include not only historical facts but also pictures and some sound effects.

It is well known that the French nation has not forgotten Australia's contribution to this horrible war and we are greatly honoured that both the French Consul General and the French Ambassador will be in attendance.      The Australian Government will be represented by MHR Lucy Wicks.

Tickets are still available at only $30pp.       Contact President Jim Katrikilis on 0414 777 748
