Climate Change

I was born and raised in International Falls, Minnesota.  When I was a teenager, my family moved to Honolulu, Hawai’i. After graduating from the University of Hawaii in 1969, I entered the Hawaiian Travel Industry. I spent the next 25 years in Sales and Marketing.  In 1992, I changed careers and enrolled at the School of Theology, in Sewanee, TN.  In 1995 I received a M.Div. and returned to Hawaii, where I was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church.  I spent 20 years in parish ministry before retirement in 2015. I live in St. Paul, MN. Over the past 10 years I experienced a concern in the climate crisis. I saw the Inconvenient Sequel” and committed myself to addressing the climate crisis.  I attended my first Climate Reality Project Training in August, 2018 in Los Angeles. After a year of presentations, attending demonstrations and meet-ups of Climate Reality Chapter, I attended my second training in 2019, this time as a mentor. In the winter of 2019, I joined the St. Paul Sunrise Rotary Club. I had been a Rotary member in Hawai’i, but did not continue after I retired and moved to Minnesota.  I was attracted back to Rotary by our stand on the climate crisis.  I have combined my concern for the climate issue with my membership in Rotary to further the aims of both.
