The Fraserview Rotary showed up in large numbers at the Queen Victoria Annex school, to present a cheque of $30,000 to teachers and students for the build of a new playground for the facility.
The children greeted Rotary members visiting for the cheque presentation and presented the president Ellen Hsu with a card that they made and then 30 of the children along with teachers performed a special song for the occasion to thanks Fraserview Rotary.
The Playground Project at Queen Victoria Annex (QVA) started in the fall of last year: Henry Chan and Ellen Hsu met with QVA PAC and vice principal to assist the school to fundraise for the QVA’s new playground.

- The club’s Charity Gala raised $25,000 towards the QVA playground project. The club has received a District grant of $5,000 towards the project, bringing the total to $30.000.
- Total project cost is $150,000. The school needs to raise a further $50,000 to complete the fund raising, and this project will remain a focus of the club.
- Once the school playground construction is underway, club members will volunteer their time to help put together the playground. Construction is expected to occur in 2020.
- Signage at the park will acknowledge the Rotary contribution
