Hi Everyone,

Today was another very busy meeting with a lot happening. Robert Hennessy-Hawks was inducted as a new member today. David Benn introduced and pinned him. Robert's wife Mary was there for the event. Please make him welcome at our meetings. Our guest speaker was Jonathon Medway who regaled us about the new cyber technology where you can have unmanned autonomous machinery plant, weed, and  harvest your crops, and other amazing technology. He works at CSU and is digitalising the mixed CSU farm with this technology. It was a lively and fascinating talk and his obvious love of the subject came through in his talk.
Neil Pinto's guest was a young lady called Viyan. She and her family are Iraq refuges and she aspires to be a cardiac surgeon.
There was a quick board meeting after our meeting and it was to discuss the process of handing over the BBQ at our monthly market and the logistics of all this. It was decided that we would prefer the trailer to be collected and returned by us still, for various reasons, and that a food handlers certificate is not necessary to operate the BBQ; otherwise the recommended outline for the BBQ operation was accepted in full and approved by the board.
There was no time for rotary information or members choice today so these will be re-allocated for a future date.
Stuart Heriot has some rotary tops; the yellow and white short sleeved  tops and some winter weight ones as well.
Next week we will finally be able to sing Rotary Grace and the national anthem, but I suspect a few members need some practice after today's effort!!
All in all a busy but good meeting and we finished on time. See you all next week.

President Richard
