Our new President James Ross opened our combined physical and zoom meeting at 12.30 p.m. with Rotary Grace. He then welcomed our guest speaker and Wollundry Charter President Graeme Hornibook.  An apology was received from our exchange student Sofi.

James read aloud a letter of resignation from Nick Leywood who had to leave our club due to work committments and a transfer interstate. He expressed his regrets and said how much he would miss the fellowship and thanked members for the support they had given him in difficult times.

On a more positive not James told us that our Club had been presented with the Rotary Youth Service Award by District Youth Director Alan Josey. This is a prestigious Rotary International Award and our club is very proud to have received this award for our RYLA, RYPEN and Youth Exchange Program.

SERGEANT
Today John Gray filled this role to extract money from those in attendance. Peter Crozier assisted with the fine box. PP Pykie was fined for continuing to take responsibility for a job that pertained to the President and John Smith for receiving the Rotarian of the Year award. John told us an Irish joke which was sufficiently funny to warrant the rest putting into the fine box. A cross fine by Doug Sutton on all members for failing to keep social distance was received with little enthusiasm.

ROTARY INFORMATION
David Benn introduced a great idea for Rotary Information this year: Each of the Past Presidents of the club would give a summary of the highlights of the year they were President. The purpose being to remind members of the clubs achievements and characters over the years and to inform new members of the history and traditions of our club. Our first Past President to speak is Graeme Hornibrook our Charter President and today's guest speaker.

GEARS AND BEERS
Phil McIntosh addressed the club with his concerns about the latest outbreak of Covid 19 in Victoria and the implications this might have for our festival. Phil felt that it would be risky to proceed with the festival given the length of the lockdown. It was decided to measure the feeling of members and a vote to cancel the event was unanimously passed. All regret the abandonment of the festival for this year but there was full support for Phil's efforts and an optimism that next years event would proceed.
