MONTHLY INTERACT CLUB ROTARY REPRESENTATIVE

Dear Ashland Rotary Friends,

On December 7th the Interact/ STRIVE team (Deb Gilson, Maryanne Wise, Krstin Aspin, Jerry Strausbaugh) gave an update on the restart for our work with the “junior Rotations'' at the Career Center. Interact is an opportunity for each of you to get involved in service and mentoring the next generation of Rotarians and leaders. Here is a summary of the presentation:

Interact is a “junior” Rotary Club for high school students that meets at the Career Center and focuses on service above self. This club meets every Thursday morning before school from 8:15 to 8:30. As potential future Rotarians, it was discussed at the December 7th Rotary meeting, the desire to build a collaborative relationship between Interact and Rotary. (Mentoring young people is part of the Rotarian Code of Conduct.) Beginning in January of 2022, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, we will have “An Interact Minute” by Interact Clubbers. Either in person or by video, updates on the happenings of Interact will be highlighted and noted where our club can get involved. On the 3rd Thursday of the month (or otherwise noted), a Rotarian will attend an Interact meeting (15 minutes) at the Career Center and bring a treat such as donuts. The idea is to build relationships and encourage the students in their efforts to serve their school and community.

Below is a sign-up schedule through the end of the 2021-2022 school year (fall 2022 schedule will come out in the summer). Thank you for considering investing yourself, your time (15 minutes) and donuts into building a bridge with Interact.

Please consider signing up to meet with our Interact Club members by signing up to represent our club at their Thursday meetings.
