Gaming funds report
Gaming funds.
We have $48,000 in our account.  We should be spending this soon.  Our year end is June 30 th.    Lets not leave it all to the last minute.
RYLA is an example of approved spending for our funds.  Not everything is eligible.  For instance overseas projects.
We can not give funds to another service club.
We really need to have some volunteer hours to show them we are doing our part.  That we are not just a luncheon club.
We can donate to a hospital foundation only not to hospitals.
We can donate to a school  PAC for certain things.  Projects such as C.A.L.S. is O. K.

The speaker was thanked by Sam.

Our el Salvador project
We are embarking an important environmental project in El Salvador in partnership with Rotary San Salvador Norosste.
We are helping to reduce the large amounts of toxic plastic and garbage from entering the Pacific Ocean and improving the health and safety of beach and offshore areas. This will be done by a volunteer effort to clean eight targeted beaches, provide garbage receptacles ( already donated) and now have a commitment from the beach community municipal governments to regularly empty receptacles. we have been raising funds since Christmas and with the district grant have enough to complete the first beach. we also have a crowdfunding page and have raised a small amount of money mainly from young people. This page provides a positive exposure for us to a young population.
Further fund raising projects are being planned which includes the help of some interested UBC volunteers

Quote of the week

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.
