Bursary Students 2016
Bursaries were handed this week to 7 High School graduates by Shail.
ALICIA MILLS Prince of Wales School. Her main purpose in life is to help others. She intends to study at University of Victoria taking courses in Social Sciences, Recreational Studies and Health Studies with minors in Environmental Studies. Possible jobs in the future are in recreational fields and teaching.
WILLIAM THOMAS DONALD. (TOM). Fraser Academy. He remarked he was honoured to receive this award which was quite unexpected. Tom mentioned his dyslexia. Music is his overriding interest. He is to attend Capilano University. He has already been awarded an Arts and Entertainment Scholarship but this bursary would cover the price of books. He hopes his future will be in the music industry with Law as a possible option
ALEX NERO. Fraser Academy. He is to attend the University of British Columbia to obtain a BSc followed by a Masters degree in order to pursue a career in Research into the Environment.
CLARICE BOSCO. Adult Education Centre. Clarice, of Togo parentage has great gifts in Sports. She is to take the course in the University of Alberta’s bilingual Nursing programme and hopes to work in Africa.
JACQUELINE ZHENG-LIN. Vancouver Technical School. Jacqueline has already been involved in Fund Raising for a vaccine, including making Oregami roses to sell. She also has made a disc for Little Beavers. Her consuming interest is to work for NAFTA.
MAHIMA PARMER. John Oliver Secondary School. Mahima’s interests lie in Sports and she already coaches swimming and soccer. She is to attend University of British Columbia Arts programme and wants to pursue a teaching degree in Sports.
ELIJAH FAST. Adult Education Center. Elijah was unable to attend and will receive his Bursary at another time.
