Christmas is coming early this year! On Friday Dec. 16th Suntree Rotarians will start the day with their annual Christmas Raffle. Remember, the proceeds from this event go to support our Christmas at Joe's Club, so don't forget to bring a nice gift. That evening we will all gather at the home of the McDaniel's to share in some Christmas Refreshments and enjoy Christmas with our extended Rotary family. What a wonderful Christmas tradition!
The Rotary Club of Suntree has "paid it foward". Just as we were sponsored by the Rotary Club of EauGallie years ago, we have now co-sponsored the Rotary Club of Viera along with our friends from the Viera Voice! The Charter Night celebration will be held at 6pm, December 7th at Tequilla Azuls in the Avenue of Viera. District Govenor Eric Gorden will be there to officially present the charter and to swear in the new officers. We will also be honored to have several other past and present Rotary District Governors involved in the festivities. Please make every effort to join us in getting this new club off to a great start! Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Rotarian Mike Pisacano, 622-4610.
Foundation Chair Debbie Williams has announced the kick off of this years Rotary Foundation Drive. It is her hope that once again we can be a 100% Sustaing Club. Because of the extreme generosity of some of our members, Debbie has been able to offer the following incentives. If by December 2nd, 2016 a Suntree Rotarian gives $100 he or she will get credit for $300. A Rotarian giving $200 would get credit for $600. What an incentive to be a double sustainer!
So lets all get our checkbooks out, and for all our ROTARIANS who give year after year, our sincerest thanks!
While final figures are not quite in yet, it does appear that this years Great Taste at Suntree will be one of the most successful ever. A very special Breakfast Meeting is being planned for December 2nd to honor the sponsors and restaurants that make this undertaking possible. A special thanks goes out to all who planned and worked to make this fun event possible, and to all our attendees who supported this wonderful charitable event.
Having completed a multi-year project remodeling a school in LaPaz ROTARIAN Woody McDaniel has now turned his considerable talents to making improvements at their local hospital. Thank you Woody, club members and everyone in our area who have given time and money to help the people of LaPaz!
