Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders. Our programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service. Youth Service programs include Interact clubs, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotary Youth Exchange, and New Generations Service Exchange: Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun. Our club sponsors the Interact club at Farrington High School, which was chartered in September 1998.  The club currently has 30 Interact members, under the school advisor, Corey Harkins. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections. Youth Exchange is a formal Rotary program where students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Our arrangement with Kyoto West is not part of this program.  New Generations Service Exchange is a short-term, customizable program for university students and professionals up to age 30.  Participants can design exchanges that combine their professional goals with a humanitarian project.  Rotaract has been elevated, is now a member type, and is no longer a program under Youth Service.
