Staying Alive project - Saving lives with CPR & AEDs
Dec. 07, 2016
Dr. Goodman is a longtime Kauai resident and a member of the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay. Jeff has helped to spearhead a project called Staying Alive - designed to train people to do CPR and use AED's (automated external defibrillator) which can help save a person suffering sudden cardiac arrest. According to Pamela Foster, a registered nurse and owner of AED Institute and founder of Hawaii Heart Foundation, sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death. Key for survival is someone recognizing what is happening, calling 911 and starting CPR to keep the blood pumping. Dr. Jeff will explain the medical science and the goals of the Staying Alive project. |
