What Hawaii is doing for Alzeheimer's disease research

Dr. Borman directs the Memory Disorders Center and is a Sub-investigator with the Clinical Research

Center at HAWAII PACIFIC NEUROSCIENCE.  She specializes in the diagnosis of memory disorders and provides management and

treatment for those living with dementia.  She is a clinical supervisor for the Research Center.  Dr. Borman received her medical degree 

from George Washington University in Washington DC.  She completed her residency in FAMILY MEDICINE at the University of 

Washington in Seattle.  She completed  two fellowships -  one in GERIATRICS from Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, and one in 

HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE MEDICINE from the Institute of Palliative Medicine in San Diego. 

Dr. Borman focuses on Quality of Life for patients with neurodegenerative conditions and their families.  There is always more 

that can be done to provide comfort, enhance function and encourage support for patients and their caregivers.   

She believes that balancing  physical and psychosocial  and spiritual concerns can provide a sense of wellness at any point in life.
