Marijuana in the Workplace

Mr. Nell’s topic, “Marijuana in the Workplace in California,” will address the recent adoption of legislation legalizing the recreational use of marijuana.  He will summarize the recent changes in both state and federal law as it relates to both medicinal and recreational marijuana usage.  With that adoption, however, has come a host of questions for California employers charged with the task of maintaining legal compliance. This presentation will summarize the current state of the law and, just as importantly, discuss best practices for balancing the important (but occasionally countervailing) forces of legal compliance and employee desire.
