Dr. Tammy Barette from Keystone College gave a riveting presentation on forensic anthropology at the May 14 Rotary Luncheon. Dr Barette made "No Bones About It" being a fascinating topic.

What is forensic anthropology? Its the medico legal application of physical anthropology and archeology, applied human skeletal biology/osteology for criminal cases.  She explained the role of the forensic anthropologist in identifying, recovery and analysis of human remains, including the need to determine that they are actually human and not animal (like a spiral cut ham bone that looks much like a human knee bone). She also provided insight into the information that an expert can determine from an examination of the bones such as occupation, stature, time of death and whether injuries were pre- or post-mortem.
