John Boche, Joe Olson
 
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
 
For the month of February Joseph “Joe” Olson has been chosen as the February Rotary Student of the Month for Lakeville South High School. Joe’s parents are: John and Georgetta Olson and his Dean is John Boche. 
 
Joseph Olson as the Lakeville South Rotary Student of the Month.  He is truly an outstanding young man with an extremely bright future.  He has an amazing resume including:
-           32 ACT
-           Class rank 16 of 469
-           4.25 GPA
-           14 AP and 9 Honors courses
-           AP Scholar
-           All State Alpine Skier
-           Robotics
-           Senior Officer
-           Soccer and Tennis participant
-           Chess Club and Environmental Club participant
-           NHS, Student Council, Key Club and HOSA participant
-           Volunteer hours with 360 Communities, March of Dimes,
Show Away Hunger, and Feed My Starving Children
 
Joseph plans pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering attending the Air Force Academy.    He is one of the nicest, hardworking, well respected students that I have known at Lakeville South High School.

Ian Paterson, Cary Zahn
 
For the month of February Lakeville North High School has chosen Ian Paterson as the Rotary Student of the Month for February. Ian’s parents are Keith and Nicole Paterson. Ian’s Dean is Cary Zahn.
 
Ian has been chosen due to his high GPA and class rank. Ian is currently 8th in his class of 443 and has a GPA of 4.321. Ian is a very involved student here at Lakeville North High School. He is a member of Concert & Pep Band. He is a member of Marching Band, is Rank Captain and Drum Major. He is also a member of Jazz Band. Ian is a member of the Mock Trial Team, a member of National Honor Society, a member of Science Olympiad, a member of Model United Nations and a member of Student Council. Outside Lakeville North High School, Ian is in Boy Scouts of America, received the Eagle Scout rank in fall of 2020. He provides private lessons in piano and soprano saxophone. He is an independent computer builder. He has led 13+ computer builds for friends, neighbors, relatives and himself. Ian has volunteered at All Saints Church, Fairview Ridges Hospital, Feed My Starving Children, and Fishes and Loaves.
 
Ian’s work experience has been lawn mowing, dog sitting, nanny driver and a part-time merchandise stocker at Target.
