NOVEMBER 2018 ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
 
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
 
Colby Lock, Nicholas Miller
For the month of November Nicholas Miller has been chosen as the November Rotary Student of the Month for Lakeville South High School. Nicholas’s parents are Morris and Roxanne Miller and his Dean John Boche.  He is truly an outstanding young man with an extremely bright future.  He has an amazing resume including:
-         4.05 GPA
-         32 ACT
-         11 Advance Placement courses
-         Cross Country running participant
-         Marching Band participant
-         Concert Band participant
-         Clay Target Team participant
-         Faith Club participant
-         National Honor Society
-         Bikes for Kids volunteer
-         Shoes for Kids volunteer
-         Assistant Herdsman at Zweber Farms
-         Plays trumpet in church orchestra
Nicholas plans on pursuing a degree in Finance while possibly attending the University of Minnesota.  He is one of the nicest, hardworking, well respected students at Lakeville South High School.
 
Lakeville North High School will recognize Colby Lock as the Lakeville North High School Rotary Student of the Month for November.  Colby’s parents are Troy & Emily Lock and his Dean is Cary Zahn.
 
Colby has been chosen due to his involvement in Activities at Lakeville North High and volunteering outside of school.
 
Colby maintains a high GPA while taking many AP classes, as well as Honors classes.  Colby is a member of Student Council, DECA, National Honor Society, Best Buddies and Historical Society.  Also, at Lakeville North High School, Colby is a member of Soccer, club soccer, the girls Hockey Manager, a Senior Class Officer, was a Junior Class Officer, a member of Faith Club and Choir. 
 
Colby works at the Lakeville HyVee and provides babysitting for several families evenings and on weekends.  Colby also volunteers at Cherry View Elementary School in the Kindergarten Class.
