Fellow Reno Rotarians:

One of my priorities as club president is to focus on membership.  While our membership numbers have been getting better each week they are still far down from where they need to be.  I am hoping you will join a subcommittee to help us grow our membership further which will help us to do great things locally and internationally.

I am asking the following:

We will get together at my house once a month to promote a Givingtrail campaign to provide Food for the Elderly.  These are the dates:

July                  24

August             22

September      20

You do not have to attend each meeting, but we would like you to send out at least 10 emails each month.  These emails are already prepared and are designed to educate your friends about the purpose of Rotary, invite them to join us at a meeting, and encourage them to donate to help feed hungry, elderly people in our community.  In addition, each participating member will be asked to donate between $25 and $50 dollars to get the campaign rolling.

We will only work for a few minutes and the rest of the time is for visiting and getting to know your fellow Rotarians better.  There will be wine and appetizers at each meeting, with plenty of time to socialize after.

We also want you to join us and bring a friend you would like to see join the club on the day of the project, which is Wednesday November 7th between 5:00-7:00.  You and your friends will be helping us pack boxes that will be delivered to seniors in our community.

Finally. Please leave a review on the website after the event about how much you enjoy being a member of our club.  This will help us build our online reputation.

We have also set up a reward system to make it fun.  At each Monday meeting any Rotarian that brings a guest will get a ticket.  At the end of the meeting we will draw for a bottle of wine or a $10 Starbucks card.  Also, if any club member is successful at recruiting a new member, we will give you a raffle ticket for a drawing for some nice prizes.  This is our way of saying thank you for making the effort to help us grow our club.

Please email Steve Mestre if you would like to help at stevemestre@charter.net.  We need about 40 members.

Steve is our District Membership Chair and has been having great success with other clubs in our district using GivingTrail.org to raise money and leverage our service to attract new members.  He will be speaking at our July 23 meeting.  I hope you can attend this meeting.

Yours in service,

President Phil
