At Richmond Rotary's Wednesday Meeting, Rotarians got together to discuss a critical issue - how to retain and attract new members!
In a presentation from Paul Elsley of Rotary Kingston, we heard about how they substantially increased their membership:
- Increase Fundraising
- Increase Collaboration (New committees such as youth committees, to engage with the community; join local community and municipal organizations).
- Expand profile (Articles in local paper; investing in marketing; participating in key community groups).
- Increase membership (Aggressive recruitment; seek out new approaches; create retention plan).
Membership strategy is critical if a Rotary club plans to increase membership. So how do you create a membership strategy in the first place? A Rotary club must set annual goals and use focused messaging to target a variety of member types.
