Our party fundraised  for a Cystoscope for Richmond Hospital.

dinner
The mission was "Fundraise for vital Hospital equipment".  The Rotary Club of Richmond responded with a gala evening complete with an eight course Chinese dinner, lion dance, live auction and raffle prices.

With Covid-19 restrictions in place, the event was held virtually on Zoom and with take-out Chinese dinner from the Continental Seafood Restaurant.  We enjoyed this gala from the safety and comfort of our homes, here and in Taiwan with President James and member Albert attending from across the Pacific.

Maybe we didn't have the aura of a large banquet room nor the ability to mingle with hundreds of guests, but we did all get front row seats to the Lion dance as was presented via video by Lulu.  We also all had clear view of our auctioneer Dave as he rolled through the items available.

The neck massager was the hottest items, 6 bidders trying to outbid each other, and at the end thank you to President James generosity, all 6 bidders got their neck massager.
What a husband and wife team. Carol outbid Antonio on this massage chair.

Many thanks go to President James for his donation of auction items towards this gala.  Also notes of gratitude to our other wonderful donors and sponsors, Horizon West Insurance; CBA Electrical and Security Service; Joseph Liang; Lulu Studio and Continental Seafood Restaurant.

Through the generosity of our members and guests, our raffle prizes, auction and sale of Continental dinner packages raised around $8,000, and now with District matching grants and contribution from Richmond Foundation,  we can see the way to donate about $20,000 (pending final financial wrap-up) to the Richmond Hospital Foundation for a cystoscope, part of the important and vital equipment upgrades.
