On Monday, Nov 9 at 6:30 PM, we will hold an online-only club meeting.  Our speakers will be Peter Cazamias and Jim Vesterman, both USMC veterans. They come to our club just before the USMC Birthday on November 10. The USMC is turning 245 years old in 2020.
 
Peter will speak about the Marine Corps mission, highlighting important moments in Marine Corps history, and then share his experience as he went from Marine Officer Candidate, to 2nd Lieutenant, to Captain and a Judge Advocate.
 
Jim will talk through his journey from entering Marine Force Recon to serving in Iraq in 2004 through to bringing his lessons learned to the private sector.
 
Our meetings are now online using Zoom.

About Peter
 
Peter Cazamias is the Senior Vice President Pine Valley Private Wealth. Peter provides succession planning, financial investment modeling, and downside protection to portfolios. He advises clients on international and domestic tax solutions.

Prior to working at Pine Valley, Peter served as Asia Pacific CFO for Insituform Technologies (NASDAQ: AEGN, now “Aegion Corporation”) in Hong Kong, and as a business segment manager at FMC Technologies (now "Technip-FMC") in Houston, Texas. 
 
Peter served our country as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.  He received his Bachelor’s from Yale University, his JD from the University of Texas School of Law, and his MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.   
 
About Jim
 
Jim Vesterman was the CEO of Raptor Technologies, the nation’s leading provider of integrated school safety technologies, from 2012 – 2020 and now sits on the Board of Directors.  Jim grew Raptor from 7,000 K-12 customers to nearly 40,000.  Prior to Raptor, Jim was the founder and Managing Director of Liberty Place Capital, a private equity Search Fund used to find, acquire, and manage a single operating entity.  Jim began his career at Monitor Group, a global strategy consulting firm serving Fortune 500 firms, and Monitor Clipper Partners, a $650 million middle market private equity fund.  Jim served in the United States Marine Corps in the Special Operations forces and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal for his service in Iraq.  Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School.

SET UP
 
Web Meetings (or web conferences) differ from watching videos on line (YouTube, Facebook Live, Netflix, etc.) because our club members can interact and participate in the meeting. Thru the use of your camera and microphone on your desktop or smart device, people in the web meeting can see you (if you allow) via the camera on your desktop or smart device, and you can speak up in the meeting via the microphone on your desktop or smart device.
 
Our meetings will be conducted with Zoom. Zoom is free, and runs on desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones. You can also dial in on an old school phone or cell phone if you just want to listen in on the meeting (and talk.)
