On Monday, August 3 at 6:30 PM, we will hold an online-only club meeting.  Our speaker will be Ben Ramirez speaking on the World Affairs Council of Austin.
 
Ben will discuss the World Affairs Council’s programming in the areas of education, culture and global trade, providing Central Texans with access to international speakers and events.

About Ben
 
Ben Ramirez III, CEO of Cogitare Global  
 
Cogitare Global assists the transformation of companies into global competitors.  Ben works with organizations to identify specific business goals and implementation strategies which match their objectives.  He provides executives and their teams with the tools they need to achieve sustainable growth in a continually changing international marketplace. 

In 2015, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker appointed Ben to the Texas Camino Real District Export Council.  He was reappointed by Secretary Wilbur Ross in 2019.  Ben administers the Foreign Trade Zone of Central Texas with member companies’ annual exports totaling between $250-$500 million.  He is a board member of CleanTX, the economic development and business association for clean technology companies.  Benis an entrepreneur advisor with Tech Ranch and is VP & Executive Director of the World Affairs Council of Austin’s Center for Global Trade.  Ben obtained a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Michigan, and a JD from the University of Toledo.

SET UP
 
Web Meetings (or web conferences) differ from watching videos on line (YouTube, Facebook Live, Netflix, etc.) because our club members can interact and participate in the meeting. Thru the use of your camera and microphone on your desktop or smart device, people in the web meeting can see you (if you allow) via the camera on your desktop or smart device, and you can speak up in the meeting via the microphone on your desktop or smart device.
 
Our meetings will be conducted with Zoom. Zoom is free, and runs on desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones. You can also dial in on an old school phone or cell phone if you just want to listen in on the meeting (and talk.)
