Austin University Area Rotary Showcase and Party

Recent surveys indicate that a majority of Americans are woefully ignorant of the vital role Rotary plays in meeting the needs of their communities. This lack of understanding is almost certainly why Rotary US membership has declined by nearly 60,000 during the past 10 years even as the organization grows throughout the rest of the world.  And although our club has grown recently, we need to continue to work hard to continue to grow despite this national trend.

As a result, this year we want to do something different with our annual post-holiday party.    In addition to bringing your spouse or guest, the Austin University Area Rotary Club wants you to  bring a prospective new member to the annual post-holiday party. To showcase the good work we do in the community, we also are inviting representatives from the many community organizations that we sponsor, to explain directly to party goers how Rotary makes a difference in their work. In keeping with the party atmosphere, these explanations will not be formal presentations but only opportunities for conversations. The community organizations will be provided space and a table on which they may place literature about their organizations.
