Many students ask real world questions of their curriculum: "why does this matter?"  Denise Ayers presented on Career and Technology Programs that graduate students into high skill, high wage, high demand jobs. "It takes a village to make a vocation!"

Denise Ayers oversees 1,622 students within Temple Independent School District that are enrolled in at least one of the following vocational training courses:

1) Health Science at Temple High, Travis Science Academy, or Hector P. Garcia Elementary in conjunction with businesses Baylor Scott & White and Temple Medical and Educational District (TMED);

2) Manufacturing / Logistics at Temple High, Lamar Middle, and Kennedy-Powell Elementary in conjunction with Temple Machine Shop Hydraulics, Temple Industrial Park, Project Lead the Way (PLTW);

3) Information Technology at Temple High, Bohnam Middle, and Kennedy-Powell Elementary with whom business partners are currently being sought.

Students have a myriad of opportunities such as running a real C&C Mill or practicing their chemistry homework with hair dye in a salon.
