  • Invocation given by: Sandi Molski
  • Birthdays recently: Karl Anderson on 4.11, Bill Vogt on  4.14, and Cassie Everheart on 4.18. Happy birthday to all!
  • Service for Marsh Purdy will be held on Saturday 4.16 at the First Congregational Church at 11 AM.
  • John Wickhem. We need as many hands as possible on 4.23 to clean and open up Camp Rotamer for the season. Please come for as long as you can, bring family and friends. Many hands make light work.
  • The Milwaukee Brewers trip will be Thursday June 30th. Cost is $55. RSVP to Mandy Witt by May 27th.
  • Heather has sent an email about a bus trip to the Pink Poodle on 4.26 to pick out Derby attire- grab a $20 seat on the 5:30 bus before all the spots are gone! The silent auction gift baskets are being assembled after the meeting on 4.18. Bring any donations you have for the Baskets, and stay to help if you can. Items are still being accepted. We will auction off some Derby Hats at the meeting on 4.18, so if you need one, get ready to have some bidding fun!
  • You can sign up for the District Conference on the 6250 website. It will be close by in Madison on May 20-22nd. If you've never attended a District Conference, it is well worth your time.
  • Ana has been busy with West Side Story practices - the show runs from 4.21 to 5.1. She will be leaving Wednesday for her NYC trip, and thanked u s all for the support.
  • Raffle: Janelle won the pot, and guess who didn't write down the amount? She was kind enough not to pull the Joker. JP rolls over. 
  • Sue Boettcher announced that our next Exchange Student will be from Venezuela- first host family is in place.
  • Presidents Pin Challenge: Don't forget to wear your Pins every week for an extra raffle ticket, courtesy of President Dan. Gary spotted Dan without his Pin and a generous contribution has been made by our President.

Dena Dunkin, 3 Gaits Theraputic  Horsemanship Center

Located in Stoughton, Wisconsin, Three Gaits, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose mission is to provide equine-assisted activities and therapies that enhance the lives of people with physical, emotional, or intellectual challenges. They offer riding sessions to adults and youth with a wide range of disabilities using 4 different programs:

  1. Therapeutic Riding (Sport/Recreational) – Incorporates education, competition, therapy and recreation into horseback riding

  2. Hippotherapy – A therapist uses the movement of the horse as a treatment tool, working toward functional goals

  3. Carriage Driving – A new therapeutic carriage driving program provides a wider-based therapeutic equine experience

  4. Un-Mounted Horsemanship Activities – To learn about horse care and horsemanship skills from the groundThey have 150 volunteers, 17 horses,  certified teachers and are one of 5 accredited programs in WI, serving about 350 riders a year. To learn more, visit www.3gaits.org

Bree, a senior at Parker, has a younger Sister and was accompanied by her Mom Kelli. She is active in DECCA, LINK Crew, Prom, Peer Assistant in Math and HR Club. She has participated in Relay for Life, ECHO, Blood drives, 4-H and her Church. She plays Basketball (6 years) and helps coach. She enjoys sports stats, reading and music, and will attend Hillsdale College to major in Exercise Science.
Coby, a Senior at Craig, has a twon Sister and older Brother. His hobbies are football and basketball. His Club activities include DECCA, Live United, Spanish Club, and Blood Drive. He will attend UW Whitewater to major in Business, Business Management, or Coaching.

Representatives from Rotary clubs worldwide will gather in Chicago 10-15 April to consider changes to the policies that guide Rotary International and its member clubs.  Many of this year’s proposed changes are designed to increase membership by giving clubs greater flexibility in the timing and the nature of their meetings. Other proposals would amend membership requirements.
 
The Rotary Foundation and UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education are offering up to 10 scholarships for graduate study at UNESCO-IHE's Delft campus in the Netherlands. The aim is to increase the number of trained professionals who can devise, plan, and implement water and sanitation solutions in developing areas. The scholarships also are designed to promote long-term relationships between Rotary members and skilled water and sanitation professionals. Leaders of sponsor Rotary clubs and districts should make sure their Interact clubs get the recognition they deserve by verifying that they qualify for a Presidential Citation. First, ensure that the Interact club status is active in Rotary's database by checking the Listing of Club-Sponsored Organizations report in Rotary Club Central.
