Derby Update: You should have turned in your ticket and sponsor sales, and be ready to make our event on Thursday a great success! If you're not planning on attending...why? We need ALL our members to support this event- it's one of our 2 annual fundraisers that support our Club and all we do. Heather has sent around an email asking for more volunteers at the Ticket booth- reply to her if you can help with a short shift. The Committee has worked really hard to make this event fun and exciting for our entire community- show your support and be a part of it!

If you've never attended a District Conference, Madison is a short drive away and it is It will be close by in Madison on May 20-22nd. If you've never attended a District Conference, it is well worth your time. President Dan will be collecting personal care items for the service project- look for an email from him on requested items and bring in to a meeting or to the conference.
Renae Henry announced the Parker FFA Spring Plant Sale takes place begiining 5.4 through 5.8, and the following weekend. This sale is open to the public- park in the Teachers lot around back of the School.

Douglas outlined 7 of the major threats to Estates.
1. Loosing control/access to your assets- when you least expect it. Who's in control of your 'stuff'? Who benefits?
2. Not knowing the law- you think you know, but laws pertaining to Estates, Taxes and IRAs change and it pays to be updated on how it may affect your Estate
3. Not knowing your predators- you'll be surprised at what could impact your Estate
4. Your health fails- it's never expected. Are you protected in case this happens?
5. Failing to plan when you can- as opposed to when you can't
6. Not working with qualified professionals- how would you know? Do your homework!
7. Don't know the costs- the real costs, of Nursing Home and health care costs that could impact your Estate as you age.

After a series of three earthquakes -- two in Japan and one in Ecuador -- killed hundreds of people, injured thousands, and caused billions of dollars in damage late last week, Rotary members in those regions have created disaster relief funds to help survivors.
In Ecuador, the powerful 7.8-magnitude quake that struck Saturday night has killed more than 400 people, with 2,500 injured. Those figures are expected to rise.
Rotary District 4400 established a service fund to raise money for relief efforts. Contact District Governor Manuel A. Nieto Jijon for information on how to donate.
