In 2003 he became the Chief of Police for Mount Desert. In 2013 he was asked to be the Chief of Bar Harbor in addition to Mount Desert.

Both Police Departments are made up of full-time officers. These officers work year round, covering Bar Harbor and Mount Desert's jurisdiction and enforcing state laws and town ordinances. The primary mission is and will continue to protect and serve our community to the greatest extent possible, to protect life and property, and prevent crime by vigorously delivering the best possible services when crime occurs.
