Jim Louttit
Rotary Action Groups

The presentation will start with a brief overview of Rotary Action Groups in general covering who they are and what they do.  Then Jim will speak more specifically about the Rotary Action Group for Community Economic Development and finish with an example or two of how Action Groups enhance Rotary's impact and public image.

Rotary Action Groups are independent, Rotary-affiliated groups made up of people from around the world who are experts in a particular field, such as economic development, peace, addiction prevention, the environment, or water. Action groups offer their technical expertise and support to help clubs plan and implement projects to increase our impact, one of Rotary's strategic priorities. This support includes helping clubs find partners, funding, and other resources. Action groups can also help clubs and districts prepare grant applications, conduct community assessments, and develop plans to monitor and evaluate their projects.

Jim Louttit is the Chair of the Rotary Action Group Chairs Council serving in this role for the Rotary years 2019-20 and 2020-21.  He is also the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Action Group for Community Economic Development and serves as Chair of their Advisory Board. Jim became a Rotarian in early 2005 as a founding member and Second Vice-President of the Rotary Club of Lima Sunrise in District 4450.  After leaving Peru in 2007 to return to Canada, he joined Toronto Sunrise in District 7070 serving as President in 2010-11.  He also served as District Governor in 2016-17 and remains active in several District Committees.
