Meeting of the Sooke Rotary Club. December 7, 2016. Village Food Market.
 
President John Topolniski called the meeting to order at 12:15pm.
Roger Temple led us in  the singing of O Canada and Tom DeZeng offered the invocation.
Our guest Sam Purdy was welcomed.
A big thank you to Frank Gertsma for hosting and Kel Phair for organizing a most successful and well attended Christmas Party.
The Rotary Christmas Tree at Seaparc had a good number of our member in attendance to assist in decorating. And the Santa Claus Parade entered an interesting float and had a few members taking part in the festivities.
It was announced that next week would be the clubs AGM. There are still a few executive positions that need to be filled. The club requires a President Elect, a Treasurer and a head of Administration. 
Jeannette Wilford announced that the dues need to be paid in full this month.
The sign up sheet for the Salvation Army Kettle was passed around and there are still a few more time slots available.
Roger Temple and Neil Flynn spoke about the upcoming Rotary Auction to be held on April 29th, 2017. There is much to be done and all Rotarians are encouraged to lend a hand.
The message to all is to: Volunteer to do Something, Be Positive, Stay tuned, Only 144 days until Auction Day, Be Happy.
Peter Faulkner thanked the speakers.
Josee won the draw and came close with the King of Clubs... But no cigar.
