News

The Waller Rotary Charity, Inc. and Rotary Club of Waller County will be holding their 4th Annual Wine Tasting & Steak Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Red Oak Ranch Event Center in Hempstead, Texas.  Our special guest speaker will again be Michael Berry, renowned radio talk show host on 740 AM.  A steak dinner with all the extras will be served along with wine from several wineries for tasting and purchasing your favorite wines.  There will be a live auction and silent auction to help our fundraiser.  If you would like to donate an item for the auctions, please contact the number below.  The funds raised go to the Rotary Club of Waller County Jerry Calvert Scholarships as well as CASA For Kids of South Central Texas, Family Ties and other charitable organizations.  There will be sponsorships available as well as individual tickets.  Sponsorship tables are $1,000.00 for a table for 8; $750.00 for a table for 6; $500.00 for a table for 4; and individual tickets are $50.00 each.  Please purchase your tickets and/or sponsorships no later than April 15, 2015, as seating is limited.  If you have any questions, please contact us at rotaryclubwallercounty@yahoo.com or call 281-433-2529.

District Governor Lisa Faith Massey provided the beginning raw material (a miniature guitar) and challenged her clubs to create additional "something" artistic" applications to these instruments for auctioning off at District Conference in New Orleans to benefit the Ninth Ward school children under the mantel of Ellis Marsalas. Waller County Rotarians embraced the challenge and are excited about the prospective outcome of their endeavor.

We encourage anyone viewing this story to submit a bid that will raise "as much money as possible" for these deserving kids. Consider the gauntlet thrown!
