Ken Hola has arranged three interesting speakers and an off-site meeting for March.  Marvin Sims is the equity coordinator and founder of the STRIPES program for the Mounds View School District.  On March 5 Marvin Sim's program will highlight the STRIPES Program and the equity promise of the school district.  Minnesota has the largest disparity in the U.S. on standardized tests between white students and students of color.  Mr. Sims will explain how the Mounds View District is trying to eliminate that disparity.

Retired Navy Captain Kay Bauer was a nurse who served in the Republic of Viet Nam during the war and made a career of the Navy.  She will talk about her experiences in the RVN and in the Navy after the war at the club meeting on March 12.  Thanks to her efforts and other nurses like her many soldiers, sailors and Marines made it home alive.

Club member and Shoreview City Administrator Terry Schwerm will gives us a tour of the newly remodeled Shoreview Community Center on March 19.  We will meet at the Community Center and not at Shore 96 that day so we have plenty of time to see what is new.

Davod Zarghami founded Northern Soda Company in Arden Hills to produce craft soft drinks.  He will present the March 26 program about his business and will be bringing samples of his craft soft drinks for members and guests to taste.

If any of these programs are of interest to any friends or family members, invite them to come as your guest.  Paul Bartyzal will provide a name tag for them and introduce them at the start of the meeting.

Many thanks to Frank Mabley for arranging the February programs.  We learned how to become Better Angles in order to bridge the political divide, how the new theater in White Bear lake was constructed and the role of Rotarian Mike Spellman in the process and about Rotary's activities with the American Refugee Committee in refugee camps, especially in Uganda.
