The Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary Club welcomed District Governor Mike Becker from the Greater Rochester Rotary Club and Assistant District Governor Sandy Campbell from the Anoka Club.  The Club also welcomed former District Governor Tom User from Menifee, California and prospective Club Member Sandy Cosgrove.

District Governor Becker served as the guest speaker and noted that he is working to visit all 62 clubs within the District during the year. He and his wife have served as foster home to more than 80 children through the years. He talked extensively about how he is working to have Rotary change its public image and even created a Public Image budget item within the District budget to raise the profile of Rotary and tell Rotary's story of service to the community and to the world. His goal is to make Rotary fun for its members. He also discussed the Rotary Foundation and how they need to raise additional funds. Last year they had more than $110,000 in grant requests with only a $79,000 budget and unfortunately, many good projects don't receive funding.

He ended thanking everyone for their service to the community and to Rotary and encouraged the Club to build an image of the Rotary Club in our communities.
