Tim is the Director for coming radio Station KBCZ. KBCZ will be a non-commercial local FM Radio station at 90.1FM serving the San Lorenzo Valley using an entertaining and educational format. The content is to be focused on local expertise on a wide array of subjects including local history, art, music, agriculture, weather, emergency information, upcoming community events, and our local economy. KBCZ is to be financially sustainable through donations and local business sponsorships. |

SLV High School Aquaculture

Teacher David Grant and volunteer technician Nate Beck have spent 18 months refurbishing a fish-farming system that circulates nearly 50,000 gallons of Fall Creek water through 40 tanks. Students in Grant's aquaculture class use the tanks to design and build yearlong research projects to study interactions of chemical compounds, fish and plants. Student Internship Program

Boulder Creek Fire Protection District annually provides a unique program for San Lorenzo Valley High School students. The program is provided to introduce students to the profession of firefighting as a potential career path. Students learn various aspects of firefighting through hands on training. Some of the topics covered are: vehicle extrication, structural firefighting, Wildland firefighting, hose evolutions, ladder evolutions, search and rescue, and rope rescue. Firefighting is a physically demanding career, which requires good physical condition. Students participate in physical conditioning during the program. |

Jeff Emery is the proprietor, winemaker, truck driver, mechanic, wine sales dude, and basically anything else he needs to be to make this small business work. He first came to Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard in July of 1979 and ended up working with Ken Burnap, the winery’s founder, in what can best be described as an old-fashioned apprenticeship. Jeff took over the business in 2002 when Ken retired. |

Coast Dairies National Monument

Amanda will present the community campaign that is now underway to convince President Obama and Congress to recognize the national significance of Coast Dairies by designating the land as a National Monument. Located on the north coast of Santa Cruz County –between Wilder Ranch State Park and Swanton Pacific Ranch –, this treasured 5,800-acre property encompasses six watersheds critical to the health of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, vast expanses of rolling grasslands, deep canyons where ancient redwoods grow, and a diverse variety of plants and animals. The property’s coastal hillsides offer a series of dramatic overlooks and vistas of the Pacific Ocean. |

He received his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin and has been in practice for 53 years. He is one of 16 doctors at Seton Medical Center who specialize in Orthopedic Surgery. He is a former Golden State Warriors team doctor. |
