The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has recently made targeted donations to local organizations that are supporting our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations made include the Edward Boss Prado Foundation to support the Gate to Gate Food Giveaway, the Morgan Hill Community Foundation to support the Essential Worker Childcare Program, and the YMCA to support the Morgan Hill Senior Center Lunch Program. Grant applicants who submitted between July 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019 were notified on the status of their applications and recipients of grants received funding in January 2020 .
As the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our Club's fund raising activities, we are unfortunately postponing our annual Community Grant/Hearts of Rotary grant application process. Please check back for more information when the program will resume.
We offer two types of grants:
Community Grants: Requests for a long lasting capital item(s), e.g., equipment, furniture, appliances. This grant type is not intended for items or expenses that have one-time or limited use or benefit to a few persons.
Hearts of Rotary Grants: Requests for identifiable items or expenses that have one-time or limited use and/or provide a benefit to a few persons. Personnel, general operating or maintenance expenses may be considered for a grant. Please note that this type of grant is only available to a 501 c (3) organizations and must be the 503 c (3) entity registered with the US government and NOT a related party.
We may consider applications for more than one grant from an organization during the grant period, but each grant request requires a separate application. There is no guarantee that any applicant receiving a grant in one year will receive funding in a subsequent year.
Applicants receiving a grant will be notified in January 2020 and funds must be spent by December 31, 2020. Documentation of the expense and how the applicant recognized Rotary* must also be provided by mailing that documentation to

*Grant applicants must agree to publicize and acknowledge the contribution in a way that promotes community awareness of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill. This can be done through media releases, Letters to the Editor, placing the Rotary Club name or logo on printed materials, etc.
Over the years, the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has supported organizations that operate free clinics, help purchase school supplies for children in need, teach children the fun and appreciation of art, provide musical concerts to elder care facilities, educate the community about and rehabilitate endangered wildlife, and provide community Fourth of July festivities.
Priority areas for receiving a grant are those that support youth, seniors, and education and where possible align with Rotary International’s six areas of focus:
1) Peace and conflict prevention/resolution,
2) Disease prevention and treatment,
3) Water and sanitation,
4) Maternal and child health,
5) Basic education and literacy, and
6) Economic and community development.
