Sharon Yap lived in the Tri-City area for the past 33 years and now currently resides in Walnut Creek, California. She studied Hospitality Management and Business at San Jose State University and has worked in the meetings industry as an Event Consultant for “SMERF” groups (social, military, educational, religious and fraternal) since 2002. In 2014, she discovered the “KonMari Method” through a book titled “The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing”, written by Japanese organizing consultant and author, Marie Kondo. Passionate about tidying and organizing, Sharon applied all that she learned about the KonMari Method to her own environment. With encouragement from friends and family, she decided to start the process in becoming a Certified KonMari Consultant in 2017. Led by Mitsugu Ando, Master Instructor & President of the KonMari Association in Japan, along-side Marie Kondo herself, Sharon’s intense journey as a KonMari consultant began – and yes, the entire process was in Japanese. She is here to share a bit of knowledge about the KonMari Method and how it can help you identify what you value in life, through the process of what she likes to call “Clearing The Clutter”. Men and Women members are wearing Easter Bonnets at our meeting last Thursday! Congratulations to Larry Day for doing his ice breaker, sharing 5-7 minutes about himself, and becoming a Blue Badge Member of the Niles (Fremont) Rotary Club. Lynn Steve Barnett received her Honorary Member badge also!
