Stacy Ingraham, Ph.D. is a Professor of Exercise Science at Crown College. She began her employment at Crown in the fall of 2015, following a 17-year faculty teaching stint at the University of Minnesota-TC. Additionally, Dr. Ingraham holds the position as the Director of the Crown Human Performance Laboratory. Stacy is also an assistant soccer coach for both the men and women’s soccer teams as well as a sports performance coach and consultant for Crown athletics.

She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology and public health epidemiology in 2002. Dr. Ingraham completed her B.A. and M.A. at the University of Northern Iowa. She was a high school and collegiate cross-country and track coach from 1982-1999. She currently provides coaching services to athletes through her own program, The Training Edge. Stacy was also a former cross country and track athlete at the University of Northern Iowa.

Dr. Ingraham is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She has presented at the ACSM national convention as well as been represented by her many Ph.D. advisees at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Ingraham presents at high schools, colleges, universities, sports clubs and conventions related to sports performance. Most recently, Dr. Ingraham presented at the American College of Sports Medicine International Conference her publication; Dynamic Knee Hyperextension in Competitive High School Soccer Players Dr. Ingraham has presented for the Minnesota Physical Therapy Association in an all-day teaching seminar. Dr. Ingraham has presented at the Minnesota State Health Education Conference and the Minnesota State League; Women in Sports Leadership Conference, as well as the Twin Cities Sports Medicine Conference in affiliation with the Twin Cities Marathon and the University of Minnesota Medical School. Additionally, she has also presented at the Minnesota Football and Wrestling Coaches annual convention. She has authored and co-authored many published journal articles. Dr. Ingraham is often cited in numerous publications on sports performance topics.

Dr. Ingraham’s areas of research focus are specific to sports performance, injury related to sport, the gender continuum in sport and coaching education. Dr. Ingraham’s current research involves heart-rate variability during shift work of public safety officers, specifically, SWAT, police, and firefighters. She is currently analyzing data specific to hyperextension and hamstring recoil as a predictor of ACL injury potential.
