Hennepin County Third District

Marion serves as Hennepin County Commissioner representing the 3rd District, which includes all of St. Louis Park, most of southwest Minneapolis and much of downtown.  Marion was elected to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners in a May 2014 a special election.

A former State Representative, Marion Greene was chief author of legislation to fully fund all-day kindergarten in Minnesota, and co-author of legislation to establish the Minnesota Health Exchange, now MNSure.  Marion brings ten years of experience as a health care policy analyst with a focus on Medicare and payment systems to her appointment as Chair of the Health and Human Services committee.

Marion grew  up in India, Morocco, Brazil and Pakistan. That international upbringing indelibly shaped her dedication to community and diversity. Marion has a BA from Swarthmore College, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
