Mr. Nick Mittica, Commercial Manager, Hydrogen Energy Systems at Air Products and Chemicals took us on a roller coaster ride of information about the development and future of hydrogen automobiles.  He first got us to understand that hydrogen cars are a type of electric cars because hydrogen (extracted from the H2O molecule) is used to power the engine and subsystems that makeup the hydrogen car.  He also noted that a hydrogen car leaves no carbon footprint but currently the cost per mile is much higher than a comparably gas fueled vehicle.  There are more of this type of car in California where there are hydrogen filling stations and not nearly as many elsewhere.  For more of the many details about the vehicle, please watch the video of the 10.31.19 meeting.
