Meeting Notes March 13, 2024

CLUB BUSINESS

Bill Keba served as today's Greeter. He made sure to be on hand to greet the contestant's for today's 4-Way Test speech contest.

Gwenn Carr opened the meeting, ringing the bell at 7:30.

Marlene Heller gave the Thought of the Day, noting it's never too late to say ''thank you," even if it's sixty years later.

Gwenn noted that we are just a few days away from our Irish Bingo fundraiser. There are flyers on each table. Guests may purchase tickets at www.irishbingo.org. We have a fabulous afternoon planned, lots of Fun, Fellowship, snacks, and gorgeous gift baskets! Your ticket purchase entitles you to entry at the Macungie Memorial Hall on Sunday at 2 PM. We will provide you with a bingo pad, a raffle ticket, a dauber and the Rules of the Bingo Games.

PROGRAM
AWRC held its annual 4-Way Test competition at today's meeting. The three contestants were Danielle Dengler, a senior at Northwestern High School; Than Smolisky, also a senior at Northwestern, and Zain Matin, a junior at Parkland High School.
The First Place winner, Than Smomlisky, received a check for $100 and will move on to the Regional Speech Contest on April 6 at Willow Lane Elementary School in Macungie. If he succeeds there, he will advance to the district Finals on April 27 at the District Conference at Wind Creek.
The Second Place winner, Danielle Dengler, received a check for $75, and the third place winner, Zain Matin, received a check for $50.

First and last pages of tribute cards, to be used to send a donation in someone's honor, memory, to celebrate, or just because. The photo is of the Weber's farm, site of many fun AWRC picnics. On the back is an explanation of what Rotary is all about.
Inside the card, the text explains that a donation has been made to AWRC and there is room for you to write the reason for the card, and who it is from. A pack of 5 cards is $25. You can purchase the cards at in-person meetings or order on the website (an extra cost will be added for postage).  All proceeds will go to the AWRC Foundation. Questions? THE WORLD NEEDS MORE ROTARIANS

Make it your business to share your Rotary story! When you meet someone who isn't aware of all Rotary has to offer personally, professionally, and to the world, it's an opportunity. Let them know you are one of the 1.4 million people in the world who make the world better by serving the community.

Offer them the chance to join us for an activity or a meeting to learn more. If you don't ask, they won't know! Be a Rotary Ambassador!
