Mother Anjel Scarborough, All Saints Episcopal Church, will present a program on iconography

The Rev. Anjel Scarborough was called to be the rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hershey in January 2021. She is a second vocation priest having spent 20+ years working in information technology prior to answering God's call to ordination. She attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (now United Lutheran Seminary), graduating in 2007 with a specialty in Town and Country Ministries and honors in New Testament scholarship.

Anjel was ordained deacon in June 2007 by the Rt. Rev. John Rabb in the Diocese of Maryland. She served a number of Episcopal parishes and missions including six years as priest-in-charge and rector of Grace Church, Brunswick. She also served as a visitation pastor for Calvary United Methodist Church, interim at St. Luke's Baltimore and St. Thomas Owings Mills, and priest-in-charge at St. Peter's Ellicott City. She spent two years as a hospice chaplain in Washington County MD. She has served the Diocese of Maryland as the Spiritual Advisor to Cursillo, as a member of the Alcohol Task Force, the Commission On Ministry, and the Congregational Vitality and Development Commission. She is an iconographer, retreat leader, has a passion for leading communities who dare to seek out those on the margins of our society as Jesus himself did and was involved with Frederick PRIDE during her tenure in Brunswick, MD.

Anjel and her spouse Stuart have been married over 30 years and have two adult children: Martin and Erin. Stuart is completing his tenure as Facilities Manager for St. John's Episcopal Parish & Day School in Ellicott City and will be ordained deacon on June 12, 2021 before moving here to the Hershey area.
