The 15th Annual Boardwalk Ice on Whyte Festival is fast approaching, and we need your help! The Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue is supporting this great community event and you can help by volunteering your time to support the festival this year!.

The Boardwalk Ice on Whyte is a community festival that includes Ice carving, amazing music, theatre, art, food, beverages and more. Rotarians and friends can help by volunteering their time to help make this event a success.

EVENT REGISTRATION ENDS ON JANUARY 17, 2018.

Event details:

Where: Ice on Whyte will be held between Whyte Avenue and 83 avenue (east of Gateway boulevard northbound);

When:  Dates and volunteers shifts include the following:

  • January 25 & 26: shifts from 2PM to 6PM  and 6PM to 10PM;
  • January 27 & 28: shifts from 10AM to 2PM and 2PM to 6PM and 6PM to 10PM;
  • February 1 & 2: shifts from 2PM to 6PM and 6PM to 10PM;
  • February  3 & 4: shifts from 10AM to 2PM, 2PM to 6PM and 6PM to 10PM.

What kind of volunteering will I do? Potential roles include Ice Bar Security, working the dining car, and Exit Gate Managers. If you have a preference, please let me know!

All positions are outside but under some partial cover. Volunteers get hot chocolate, snacks, and breaks throughout their shift!

A training session will be made available for volunteers on January 21, 2018 or potentially during one of our meetings. Stay tuned for more information!
