Grocery Grab ticket sales are in full swing!  Contact Jim J or Chris D to get yours.  We will be selling tickets outside of Crete Foodmart on March 9, 16, 23, (and possibly 30?).  These dates are of course weather permitting.  If you'd like to sign up to sell, email me, but you're of course welcomed to come down!  The more the merrier!

We awarded a Paul Harris Fellow to Craig Snyder (pictured below).

Our speaker this week was Shaylene Smith (pictured below) with the Blue River Arts Council (BRAC).  She wanted to provide an update the group has with the ISIS theater as well as share something new "migrating" into Crete.  The city owns the theater, but the BRAC is working to purchase the building from the city.  They have applied for a grant, and, if approved, they plan to renovate the lobby, replace the outside sign, and make handicap accessible restrooms.  They already have a list of volunteers happy to work at the theater to keep it running on certain nights per week.

The BRAC has a board of individuals celebrating all of the arts--visual arts, dance, theater, etc.  Their latest project/fundraiser is to purchase 20, 3-ft. birds to display throughout Crete.  They're in touch with artists in the area to paint them, and they will be auctioned off.  You have the option to purchase, design, and display the bird for the $2500 "buy it now" sponsorship.  The $750 sponsorship allows the purchase, work with a designer to decorate, and auction off.

She also shared many events the council has planned this year.  Check out their facebook page for more information!  https://www.facebook.com/BlueRiverArtsCouncil/
