Last Tuesday club members heard from interim head coach of Doane Women's basketball, Ryan Baumgartner. He took over in the last week of November after the resignation of first-year head coach Sheronda Powell and lead the team to their first win of the season. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Doane and played basketball for the Tigers before serving as an assistant for both the Women's and Men's programs in recent years. He said he hopes to build on season goals and encourage the players to improve on the court and work hard in the classroom. Ryan and his wife, Deidre, live in Crete. This week's meeting is on Wednesday (Dec. 11) when we will start at 5:30 at Crete ACE Hardware to view the model train display. Club member Tom Parker is one of the creators. We will move to The Brew House about 6 for the regular portion of our meeting.
The Club Christmas Party is set for Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at The Brew House. The menu is being finalized so please watch your email for your RSVP and meal selection this week.
