Last week, Lieutenant Gary Young was joined by Senior Patrol Officer Audrey Arbuckle, Sergeant Jon Pucket, and K9 “Hunk”. Officer Arbuckle talked about her new position as K9 Handler for Hunk and the intense training both she and the dog have completed. Hunk is a one year old Belgian Malinois and is trained as both a drug detection and tracking K9. He will become certified on October 17th of this year.

In addition, here are some upcoming items to be aware of:
  • Sept 19, we will be distributing dictionaries at the Crete Intermediate School at 8am.  About 6 volunteers have signed up, but all are welcomed to attend.
  • Tickets for the Grocery Grab should be available at the next meeting.  It's encouraged that all members sell 2 tickets.
  • A sign up sheet for volunteering at the information booth at the Pumpkin Festival (October 2nd) will be going around at the next meeting.  Please look at your schedules and consider helping.
  • We hope to sell tickets on Saturdays in October at Crete Foodmart (typically from 9am-12pm).  Again, please look at your schedules to determine if there's enough interest to sell.
  • The District Governor visit has been rescheduled for November 30th.  Please make a point to attend so we can have a good turn out.
On September 28th, we will hear from Kyle Kimmi, Bunge Cornmill Manager to tell us updates at the Crete Mills.
